The dispute over the inheritance has intensified between the sons of the late Egyptian popular artist Shaaban Abdel Rahim. Abdel Rahim, the son of the late artist, accused his brother Essam of not handing over a large portion of their father's inheritance two years after his death. In a television interview, Abdel Rahim stated, "Essam refused to give me my inheritance, and his wife and daughters assaulted and verbally abused me with the most vulgar insults." In response, his brother Essam denied these accusations, saying, "This is not true. Abdel Rahim came to my house at 8 AM one day with a club and insulted me and my daughter with unforgivable curses. I could not respond to my brother, so I let my wife deal with him." Essam rejected Abdel Rahim's claims regarding the inheritance, confirming that he received his rightful share, stating, "He has no claim from me, not even a quarter of a pound." According to the newspaper "Al-Watan," Essam pointed out that his brother was the main reason behind his stroke due to these problems, which he had not wished to occur within the family of Shaaban Abdel Rahim. It is worth noting that artist Shaaban Abdel Rahim passed away in December 2019 after a short health crisis, approximately two days after performing a concert in Saudi Arabia, where he appeared sitting in a wheelchair. Furthermore, the children of artist Shaaban Abdel Rahim were seriously considering forming a musical group to continue their father's legacy, as he had a significant body of artistic work.
