The President of the Parliament, Nabih Berri, received the Chairman of the Investment Promotion Authority in Lebanon (IDAL), Mazen Souaid, along with Vice Presidents Alaa Hamieh and Simon Said, and members Rana Dabbles, William Shrou, and Hamad Al-Muhtar, at the second presidential headquarters in Ain al-Tineh. They discussed the work of the authority and legislative matters related to laws that would encourage investments in Lebanon.
Berri also addressed the conditions of the Lebanese communities abroad during his meeting with the President of the World Lebanese Cultural Union, Abbas Fawaz, and members of the union's administrative body. After the meeting, Fawaz stated, "We visited the President and informed him about the activities of the union abroad and the steps we have taken to unify the union and the activities of the branches and continental councils on the six continents. We also updated the President on future projects, especially the creation of an electronic platform to register Lebanese expatriates, both in type and number, as well as their institutions abroad." He added, "We conveyed to the President the wishes of the expatriates regarding the importance of maintaining state institutions, considering that the state can only rise by preserving its institutions. Its survival depends on the efforts of all Lebanese, both residents and expatriates. For his part, we updated the President on the efforts being made to protect the funds of Lebanese depositors, both residents and expatriates, and the ways to activate the diaspora's role in contributing to the economic recovery."
