The head of the vaccination committee, Dr. Abdul Rahman Bazri, stated that since the start of the vaccination plan until now, some individual matters have been observed, but what happened today is a breach that cannot be tolerated.
Bazri confirmed during a press conference today after several MPs received the vaccine: "This is an unacceptable breach, and a true statesman waits his turn like any citizen." He added, "I will announce my resignation from the National Committee for the COVID-19 Vaccine following the vaccination of a number of MPs without our approval."
He considered that what happened today in Parliament is a breach that cannot be ignored, describing it as an attempt to differentiate a group of people that we respect and acknowledge their role, but when we call on citizens to go to vaccination centers, discrimination is not acceptable. Bazri explained that the resignation was a natural reaction, but committee members urged him not to resign so that the plan would not fail, indicating that "the committee has been invited to convene tomorrow because it has the right to take the necessary measures."
He pointed out that the approval for vaccinating Parliament came from the Ministry of Health, and there should be a clear justification for what happened. Bazri noted that the World Bank has recorded this breach and will follow up on this matter, expressing his genuine desire to apologize while demanding "a clear justification for what occurred, or the committee will decide to apologize for its work after the meeting that will be held at six o'clock tomorrow evening."
Earlier, Dr. Abdul Rahman Bazri stated to OTV: "I have not yet made a final decision on whether to resign or not, and I will clarify my personal viewpoint regarding what is happening in my conference shortly."
