The Army Command - Orientation Directorate issued the following statement: "A patrol from the Intelligence Directorate in the Mashrufiyah - Baabda area arrested a person named (S.R.) of Algerian nationality, and in the Hay al-Sallum - Baabda area, citizens (H.M.) and (A.N.) for their participation in motorcycle rallies that roamed the southern suburbs and shouted sectarian slogans. The first person fired shots during these rallies on the dates 16 and 17/5/2022, in addition to drug use, weapons trafficking, and involvement in the Tayouneh events, and was found in possession of two military pistols and military ammunition. The third individual was also found in possession of a military pistol.
The seized items were handed over, and an investigation with the arrested individuals has commenced under the supervision of the relevant judiciary."
