The administrative body of the Lebanese Basketball Federation has decided to suspend Al-Riyadi fans for four matches and impose a fine of 500 units, based on Article 149 and in light of repeated offenses. This decision relates to the second final match between Al-Riyadi and Beirut, held at Saeb Salam Hall in Manara on Wednesday, June 1, 2022. This decision follows the match observer's report and the referees' rulings, in response to the riots that occurred, along with insults and defamatory and offensive statements of a sectarian and racist nature directed at the federation, referees, management, and players of the visiting team. Additionally, there were gestures and ongoing disturbances that led to the suspension of the match twice. The first suspension involved a clash among the fans that reached the Al-Riyadi bench, particularly affecting assistant coach Marwan Diab. The second suspension was prolonged due to the disturbances caused by the lighting of fireworks, which resulted in a significant release of smoke.
