New From Inside Iran's Worst Prisons: See the Leaked Photos

Under the title "New From Inside Iran's Worst Prisons: See the Leaked Photos," the Arabic website reported that over the years, many human rights activists inside and outside Iran, as well as opponents, have published reports about the violations committed in Evin Prison, one of Iran's most notorious prisons. However, witnessing the situation firsthand is much harsher than merely describing this infamous prison, which mostly houses political prisoners.

#### Horrifying Images

After hackers breached the surveillance cameras of Evin Prison, they published horrifying images of what is happening inside its corridors, according to the Associated Press. Among the released clips, one can see the control room for the surveillance cameras, showing various sections of the prison on the screens.

However, the gruesome scenes inside this grim place were exemplified by a man attempting to cut his arm's arteries by smashing a bathroom mirror. Images also show guards brutally beating a prisoner, while another clip depicts a guard punching a prisoner in his cell.

#### Inhumane Treatment

In another image, prison guards appear to be fighting amongst themselves, while many prisoners are shown cramped in single rooms with no one wearing masks. Additionally, another scene revealed prisoners—and even guards—beating each other in footage recorded by the surveillance cameras.

One clip showed an unconscious prisoner in the prison yard. When he fell to the ground, guards grabbed him by his arms and dragged him along. This degrading and inhumane sight continued for a period of time before the prisoner was forcibly lifted from the stairs.

It's noteworthy that the group of hackers, calling themselves "Justice for Ali," emphasized that they "will continue to expose the oppressive practices of the government, the executions, and what happens in its secret prisons to silence activists." They also stated they want "the world to hear the voice of the oppressed in Iran for the freedom of all political prisoners."
