The future of Egyptian star and Liverpool FC striker, Mohamed Salah, remains uncertain, despite having two years left on his contract at Anfield. Following the win against Norwich City, particularly moments after Salah's goal, his agent, Ramy Abbas Issa, posted a "mysterious tweet" on his Twitter account.
Ramy Issa shared an enigmatic message on Twitter after Liverpool's strong opening match in the new Premier League season. In his tweet, following Salah's third goal in the 75th minute, he simply wrote: "I hope they watch." However, he did not provide any further details or clarify who this mysterious message was directed at.
Salah, who is beginning his fifth season with the Reds, provided assists and scored a goal in the 3-0 victory over newly-promoted Norwich. With this goal, Salah reached a total of 126 goals with Liverpool. Speculation about his future with the club continues, considering he has two years remaining on his contract, which is reportedly worth £200,000 a week. However, there has been no communication from Liverpool regarding a new deal.
In recent months, major European clubs have shown interest in the Egyptian striker. Comments made by him last year suggest he might consider leaving Anfield, where he has won both the Champions League and the Premier League. Speaking to the Spanish sports newspaper "AS" last December, Salah said: "I think Madrid and Barcelona are big clubs... We never know what will happen in the future, but I am now focused on winning the Premier League and the Champions League again with my team."
When pressed during the interview about how long he would stay at Anfield, Salah laughed before adding to the speculation regarding his position at the club. He stated: "It's a tough question [laughs], but I can now say that everything is in the club's hands. Of course, I want to break records here, and I repeat, every club record, but everything is in the club's hands."
