Al-Nahyan Stadium hosted the match between UAE's Al-Wahda and their guest Sharjah, concluding the first day of the 15th round of the Arabian Gulf League.
In the match, Al-Wahda managed to secure a positive draw with league leaders Sharjah, with a score of (1-1). The game was intense and fast-paced as expected, with the crossbar saving Al-Wahda from an early goal by Sharjah in the 15th minute when it deflected a shot from Kayo. The referee initially disallowed a goal scored by Luan Pereira in the 31st minute due to a potential handball, but later confirmed it after reviewing video technology.
Al-Sharjah's goalkeeper, Adel Mohammed Al-Hosani, then saved a surprise shot from Syrian striker Omar Khrbin of Al-Wahda in the 41st minute. A goal by Sharjah, scored by Pereira in the 3rd minute of stoppage time in the first half, was also disallowed for offside after a VAR review.
Al-Wahda showed stronger and better performance in the second half, and Khrbin equalized with a header amid the Sharjah defense in the 48th minute. It’s noteworthy that with this result, Sharjah strengthened their position at the top of the Arabian Gulf League, reaching 36 points, while Al-Wahda increased their points to 23, temporarily moving to sixth place.
