The Counter-Terrorism Service in Erbil, Kurdistan Iraq, announced on Tuesday the thwarting of a plot to target civilians and government facilities during Eid al-Adha. In a statement, they mentioned that "the entire terrorist group was arrested before executing their plan, during the preparation and reconnaissance phase". **Drone Attack**

A week prior, a drone attack targeted Erbil Airport, which is located near the American consulate in the city, as confirmed by the region's Counter-Terrorism Service last week. The Joint Operations Command in Iraq announced on Thursday night that significant results had been achieved regarding the attack on Erbil Airport, confirming the arrest of individuals involved in some rocket attacks.

Spokesman for the Joint Operations Command, Tahseen al-Khafaji, stated that targeting Ain al-Asad base, the Green Zone, and Erbil constitutes a security breach, affirming that "there are countermeasures in place". He added that investigations are ongoing regarding the recent attacks and that evidence has been gathered, stressing that significant security efforts are being made. He indicated, "We have attained very significant and advanced results that will expedite the process of apprehending the culprits, and we will take deterrent actions under the guidance of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces." He revealed the arrest of many individuals involved in the attacks and their accomplices.
