Deputy Mario Aoun affirmed that the current stage requires respecting internal balances and having a unified standard in government formation.
In an interview with "Voice of Lebanon" radio, Aoun pointed out that the action taken by resigned Prime Minister Hassan Diab is part of a series of movements by those with a sense of purpose after a long period of stagnation to emerge from the current situation in Lebanon, especially following the leaked video which does not seem to indicate any positives. Aoun reiterated his call for President Hariri to apologize if he is unable to form a government, attributing this to the people's inability to wait, urging for the formation of "even a small government of six ministers to assume responsibilities and start working."
Aoun demanded that the president-designate carry out his responsibilities to overcome the crisis on both the living and health fronts, stressing "the necessity for Hariri to make significant concessions to form a government as soon as possible." Lebanon is currently experiencing a severe political and economic crisis that led to the resignation of Prime Minister Hassan Diab's government and subsequently Mustafa Adib's withdrawal from forming a new government. Hariri was named after receiving 65 votes from deputies in the mandatory parliamentary consultations compared to 53 who did not nominate anyone, with two deputies absent from the consultations.
