Lebanese artist Elissa posted a tweet attacking the Lebanese Minister of Health, Hamad Hassan, using the hashtag "No Trust."
Elissa confirmed that the numbers of COVID-19 infections and deaths in Lebanon are not accurate, after describing the actions of the Health Minister and some deputies as lies and arrogance. She tweeted: "Honestly, after seeing the practices and arrogance and lies of the Health Minister and some deputies and officials, I have doubts even about the large numbers of COVID-19 infections and how many died and how they died." Comments poured in from social media users on Elissa’s tweet, with some explaining that they use the numbers for political and commercial purposes, indicating that they are puppets in the hands of rulers who have not hesitated for a moment to deceive and oppress them.
Elissa noted on her official Instagram account the importance of being cautious of COVID-19 infection, providing some advice to her followers. She also shared a video on her personal Twitter page showing protests in German streets against the vaccine for the coronavirus, as protestors consider the virus a deception amid a conflict between major countries. Elissa wrote on the clip: "And I agree with them," signaling her rejection of the vaccine idea. It is worth mentioning that the video she shared brought her criticism from social media users, who said she was mistaken and that she should be a role model for others, especially since she has a large audience.
