In Paris: Man Killed After Attacking Police Officers with a Knife

A man who attacked French police officers in the capital, Paris, was shot dead today, Monday, after they opened fire on him. Our correspondent in Paris reported that the police shot a person who threatened one of their members with a knife. The incident occurred at the Gare du Nord train station in Paris. It was noted that there is no connection between the incident and terrorism at this time, and the assailant's motives remain unknown. For its part, the French news agency AFP reported that police officers "opened fire on a man who threatened them with a knife" at the train station, without providing further details.

It is worth mentioning that a police officer was injured in a knife attack in the city of Cannes on November 8. French Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin confirmed the officer's injury and the "neutralization of the attacker," according to Reuters.

Television station "BFM" cited a police source stating that the attacker opened the door of a parked police car in front of a police station and stabbed an officer with a knife. He then attempted to attack a second officer, but a third officer who was also in the car shot him, causing serious injuries. A French police source indicated that the man was carrying a knife measuring "30 cm" with "ACAB" written on it, an acronym for "All Cops Are Bastards." The two police officers fired to "prevent any danger" in the busy station serving northern France and neighboring countries like Britain, Belgium, and Germany, as reported by AFP.
