The Houthi militias have been accumulating losses in Marib for days, as they continue their attacks on the Yemeni governorate that hosts thousands of displaced people. The official spokesperson for the Yemeni army, Brigadier General Abdu Majali, confirmed that the army is inflicting losses on the militias in terms of equipment and lives across various fronts, especially in Marib.
In a statement last Friday evening, he indicated that the army forces launched several counterattacks on the positions where the militias are stationed in southern Marib. Meanwhile, the Yemeni Minister of Information praised the resilience of this mighty governorate in a series of tweets last night, considering that Marib has set an example for resistance against the aggressors.
He noted that Marib has refused to hand over its command to the hordes of the new invasion and has made the aggressors taste suffering since the early hours of the coup. He emphasized that its mountains and entire regions have become a graveyard for militia leaders and their members, as well as a crematorium for their stolen equipment from state camps.
Additionally, he urged Yemenis not to leave this valiant governorate, especially after the sacrifices made by its people over the past seven years as they stand alone facing the invaders. It is noteworthy that the Houthi militias escalated their attacks and military operations to control Marib last February, attempting to strengthen their position during political negotiations.
Despite calls from international humanitarian organizations, the United Nations, and Washington to end the war and cease Houthi attacks on the governorate that shelters thousands of displaced individuals, the militias continue to attempt advances without achieving any tangible results, amidst resistance from the army and tribal fighters.
