The head of the Musicians' Syndicate in Egypt, Hani Shakir, emphasized that artist Mohamed Ramadan is not exempt from the new penalties imposed by the syndicate. Regarding Ramadan's concerts, which are always held with a "flash drive" without musicians, Shakir stated to local media on Tuesday that "any concert for any singer or artist, no matter who, will not take place without a musical band." He also confirmed that "those who violate this will face penalties from the syndicate, just as it happened with artist Ahmed Saad, who was fined 20,000 Egyptian pounds for bringing only 4 musicians to his concert."
It is noted that the Musicians' Syndicate previously adopted a package of decisions earlier this month following the dispute between Hassan Shakosh and Reda Al-Bahrawy, the most prominent of which was the ban on singing via "playback" using what is known as a "flash drive," stipulating that the singer must be accompanied by a band consisting of at least 8 musicians.
Last Thursday, artist Ahmed Saad violated these decisions during his concert in the North Coast area, singing via "playback" and only using 4 musicians.
**Hint of "Disciplinary Council"**
After recording the concert and sending a copy to Hani Shakir, the syndicate issued a decision to penalize Saad with a fine of 20,000 Egyptian pounds. The syndicate also warned Saad against repeating this action, pointing out that next time he will be referred to the Disciplinary Council, which holds all powers to confront the artist under the law.
