The Secretary-General of Hezbollah, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, revealed details of his last meeting with former Iranian Revolutionary Guard General Qassem Soleimani during a documentary titled "The Last Meeting," which aired on the al-Manar news channel.
Hassan Nasrallah stated that Qassem Soleimani made a phone call to the former Deputy Commander of the Popular Mobilization Forces, Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, before leaving Lebanon. Nasrallah added that General Soleimani requested Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis not to go to Baghdad International Airport to welcome him, while al-Muhandis insisted on personally receiving the Iranian general, until they were both assassinated in an American airstrike near the Baghdad airport.
Al-Manar aired images during the documentary showing Soleimani and Nasrallah in front of a map of the Middle East. Nasrallah elaborated that Qassem Soleimani was present in Syria, Iraq, Yemen, and Afghanistan to thwart conspiracies against these countries. Qassem Soleimani, the commander of the Quds Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, a leader in the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces, were killed in an American airstrike targeting their convoy near Baghdad airport on January 3.
