The Central News Agency - President Michel Aoun was informed by Antoine Habbib, General Director of the Housing Bank, about the bank's program for providing long-term loans for purchasing or renovating homes and installing solar energy systems. Habbib stated after the meeting: "We were honored to meet with His Excellency the President and informed him about the current plan of the Housing Bank under which we will secure loans for the Lebanese people starting from June 20." He expressed hope that the President would intervene with the Kuwaiti authorities to release a loan from the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development amounting to 50 million Kuwaiti Dinars, so they can meet all requests for housing or solar energy loans. He added, "The loans will be allocated to low and middle-income individuals in villages according to the system applied at the Housing Bank." It is noteworthy that the bank will receive applications via the online application to spare applicants the trouble of moving from their place of residence to the institution's headquarters.
Collaboration Protocol with the Ministry of Energy
He revealed that "a cooperation protocol will be signed next week between the Housing Bank and the Ministry of Energy regarding solar energy loans." Regarding any special conditions for obtaining these loans, Habbib clarified that "the condition to receive the loan is that the total family income must not be less than 6 million Lira, not the income of an individual, to purchase a home worth 1 billion Lira over a period of 30 years at an interest rate of 5 percent."
