The American magazine Forbes, specializing in wealth statistics and monitoring the growth of financial institutions and companies worldwide, disclosed the annual income of Egyptian footballer Mohamed Salah and his position in the list of the highest-paid athletes. The Egyptian national team star and Liverpool player ranked 33rd on the list of the highest-earning athletes globally.
According to the latest report from Forbes, Salah earned $45 million between May 1, 2021, and May 1, 2022. The magazine indicated that $18 million of Salah's income came from off-field activities, while he earned $27 million from football.
The 29-year-old player, residing in the United Kingdom, ranks fourth among the highest-paid athletes in football, just after Lionel Messi ($130 million), Cristiano Ronaldo ($115 million), and Neymar ($95 million). Following him is Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappé, with revenues of $43 million.
Returning to the Forbes report, Messi tops the list of the world's highest-paid athletes, followed by American basketball star LeBron James at $121.2 million. Following them are Cristiano in third place and Neymar in fourth, then American basketball stars Stephen Curry in fifth ($92.8 million) and Kevin Durant in sixth ($92.1 million), and Giannis Antetokounmpo in tenth ($80.9 million), who is the only athlete under the age of thirty.
