The service of renting expensive smart devices has gained wide popularity in the Russian capital, Moscow, recently. This new service allows people to avoid paying a significant amount for purchasing a smart device and instead rent it for a specific period. A representative from the Russian company "Arenters.ru" stated that Moscow residents are renting laptops more than any other smart devices. According to "Russia Today," Ivan Yastrebkov, the development project manager at the Russian company "Sphere Service," noted that the rental service for laptops is popular, as users do not have to think about maintenance, application updates, screen replacements, and so on.
One of the benefits of renting is that the user has the right to decide how long to rent a particular smart device. For example, renting an "iPhone 13," which costs 110,000 rubles, for one month costs the renter 8,900 rubles. Moscow residents often rent home cinema systems worth 200,000 rubles for just a week, or even for a day or two. Renting such a system for one day, for instance, costs only 2,000 rubles. Renting a "Lenovo" laptop for one month would cost the renter 6,000 rubles.
However, renting smart devices for a long period is considered unprofitable. For example, renting an "iPhone" for one year would cost the renter 106,000 rubles, knowing that the price of the "iPhone 13" does not exceed 110,000 rubles.
