Trezeguet's Tears Ignite the Internet and Move Millions

A mood of sadness enveloped the Egyptian national team players after their loss in the Africa Cup of Nations final in a penalty shootout against Senegal during the match held on Sunday evening. However, Mahmoud Trezeguet's tears became the center of attention on social media, despite many players crying; his tears captured the spotlight.

Moreover, it wasn't just Trezeguet's tears that saddened social media users, but also his gesture with his hands and murmuring toward teammate Amr Solia, which seemed understandable to all football fans without the need to hear it.

Social media users quickly expressed their sympathy across various platforms, especially Twitter, with a viral video of Mahmoud Trezeguet showing moments of the player's crying after the match and signaling the loss of the second Africa Championship final.

Meanwhile, Egyptian media figure Ahmed Shobair sent a message to Egyptian national team player Mahmoud Trezeguet after Egypt's loss in the Africa Cup of Nations. Shobair wrote on his Twitter account: "Your tears are precious, Trezeguet.. Hopefully, we will compensate in March with qualification for the World Cup."

Additionally, Egyptian Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhi sent an important message to the Egyptian national football team players after losing the Africa Cup of Nations final.

Sobhi told the players in the locker room after the match: "The tournament is over; we have two matches (World Cup qualifiers) ahead of us, and we cannot let our rights go. I repeat, we will not let our rights go. The matter is not finished, and God willing, we will be stronger."

He added, "From the beginning, we wanted to show our best, yet we competed in three finals against Ivory Coast, Morocco, and Cameroon. No one has delivered the same performance as you on this difficult path."

He continued, "What happened will not break us.. We will be sad, but we will rise and come back stronger. We have the World Cup qualifiers ahead of us, and now we have a team we can be proud of."

The Egyptian national team will meet Senegal again in mid-March for two matches, home and away, in the final stage of the African qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup.
