Chelsea Wins the UEFA Champions League Title for the Second Time in its History

Chelsea crowned its second UEFA Champions League title in history on Saturday, after winning 1-0 against Manchester City in a match held at the Porto stadium in Portugal. The only goal of the match was scored by German player Kai Havertz in the 42nd minute, following a clever pass from Mason Mount, putting him face to face with goalkeeper Ederson, whom he successfully dribbled before slotting the ball into the net. Riyad Mahrez almost equalized in the last minute of stoppage time, but his shot went over the crossbar.

The first half saw many missed opportunities from both teams. In the 14th minute, Timo Werner squandered a chance to give the "Blues" the lead when he had time and space inside the penalty area, but his low shot towards the center of the goal was easily saved by Ederson. Phil Foden also missed a chance to open the scoring for Manchester City in the 28th minute, heading a cross inside the penalty area over the bar.

Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel had to substitute defender Thiago Silva in the 39th minute with Andreas Christensen due to an injury.

In the second half, Manchester City suffered a setback in the 60th minute when coach Pep Guardiola had to replace winger Kevin De Bruyne with Gabriel Jesus after De Bruyne was injured following a foul committed by Antonio Rudiger.

City players appealed for a penalty in the 61st minute, claiming that the ball had hit the hand of Reece James in Chelsea's penalty area, but the referee did not blow his whistle and refused to refer to video replay.

César Azpilicueta saved Chelsea from a dangerous chance for City by clearing a cross from Riyad Mahrez in front of his team's goal.

Christian Pulisic missed an opportunity to double Chelsea's lead after receiving a pass from Havertz that put him in a one-on-one situation, but his shot went wide of the goal.

This is Chelsea's second title in the UEFA Champions League, after defeating Bayern Munich on penalties in the 2012 final. The London team has previously bested City twice this season, once in the English Premier League and another in the FA Cup final.

The match was attended by 16,500 fans from both teams and football enthusiasts. Both teams fielded a full lineup of players.
