Artist Mohamed Solomon has topped social media after discussing his daughter's marriage in an Islamic manner, where he refused to specify a dowry or a list of household items and avoided burdening his daughter's groom with significant expenses. The public responded with numerous comments, most of which supported his stance and advocated for the spread of this idea to ease the financial burden on young people preparing for marriage. One follower wrote: "Artist Mohamed Solomon turned out to be a respectable man; I didn't consider his lineage, but only his upbringing and morals." Another commented: "Congratulations and may God bring her happiness; this is truly wise advice, and I really wish everyone would understand this."
Mohamed Solomon discussed how he married off his daughter, saying: "I married my daughter in an Islamic way. I look at the young man himself; I’m not concerned about his father’s status or whether he has money or not. What matters is whether the young man is raised well or not; the customs and traditions we think of do not serve our children as much as they impose restrictions on them." He added in televised statements: "I did not impose conditions on my daughter's marriage, no list and no dowry; I married her in the Islamic way."
Solomon's latest work was the series "Al-Mamalek," which aired this year, outside of the Ramadan 2022 season. He played the role of journalist Issa Al-Maadawy, penned by Hisham Hilal and directed by Hazem Foudah. The series "Al-Mamalek" highlights the conflict between good and evil and the motivations that lead individuals to seek revenge, through the character of businessman Salem, who becomes embroiled in shady dealings and faces a horrific accident with his family while the poor girl Hind happens to be at the scene, altering the course of her life thereafter.
