In recent hours, news has spread on social media regarding the death of Syrian artist Drees Lahham due to a severe heart crisis that led to his hospitalization and subsequent death during heart surgery. In response, Tamadur Ghanem, the head of the Damascus branch of the Artists Syndicate, stated that "the esteemed artist Drees Lahham is fine and in good health," adding that "any news not issued by the Artists Syndicate is just a rumor."
On the other hand, director Basem Al-Salka indirectly responded from the filming location of the series "Alay Qid Al-Hubb" (On the Brink of Love), written by Fadi Qoushaji and directed by Basem Al-Salka. He shared pictures of himself with star Drees Lahham, Nadine Khoury, and Mahyar Khodour during the filming of a scene. Al-Salka captioned the photos: "Now... Drees Lahham, Nadine Khoury, Mahyar Khodour from the behind-the-scenes of the series 'Alay Qid Al-Hubb'."
Drees Lahham has faced several death and illness rumors in recent years, many of which he denied, while the Artists Syndicate has rejected numerous others.
