A tragic incident occurred in the city of 15 May in Helwan, south of Cairo, when an infant fell from the hands of her older sister from their balcony to the street, leading the sister to jump after her, followed by their mother, resulting in the loss of all three lives. Mohamed Saleh, an eyewitness to the incident, told Sky News Arabia that the incident happened during Friday prayers in neighborhood 35 of the city of 15 May. A 7-year-old girl named Malak Ahmed was playing with her 10-month-old baby sister Mai on their sixth-floor balcony when the baby lost her balance and fell. The girl jumped after her, thinking she could save her, and when the mother saw the scene, she also jumped after her daughters, and all three perished. The witness explained that when they came out of Friday prayers, the mother was still alive but only uttered a few words: "My children... my children fell, I tried to save them," before she passed away. The eyewitness continued that when the father emerged from the mosque and was shocked by the scene, he kept repeating, “There is no power and no strength except with God... We belong to God and to Him we shall return.” Saleh indicated that the infant was still alive when she fell, and someone took her to the hospital, but she died upon arrival. He stated that the Egyptian police arrived, listened to eyewitness testimonies, and notified the prosecutor for investigation, while the bodies were transferred to the morgue to determine the cause of death.
