Hotel Cameras Reveal Details of Emirati Child's Drowning in Swimming Pool

The incident involving the death of Emirati child (Ali, 4 years old) and his accompanying nanny (23 years old) at a hotel in Ras Al Khaimah last Wednesday has revealed new details, according to a source at the hotel's management. The source, who preferred to remain anonymous, told "Emirates Today" that the hotel pool closes daily at 7 PM, and any use of the pool after that time is the responsibility of the guests.

The source explained that the hotel’s surveillance cameras recorded the details of the incident, showing that the nanny took the child to the pool around 8 PM. They entered the pool together and fell into the deep end rather than the designated safe area for children, due to her lack of attention to the depth of the area and her inability to assess where she was swimming.

Furthermore, the cameras recorded the nanny's attempts to save the child and pull him out of the pool; however, she was unable to do so as she was also drowning in the deep area. One hotel guest, who was on the balcony of his second-floor room, saw them floating on the surface of the pool and began to yell loudly.

The source mentioned that he was present at the hotel at that moment and, upon hearing the guest's screams, went to inquire about the situation. He was informed that there were drowning victims in the pool. He added, "I immediately rushed to the pool and jumped in, attempting to rescue the child and the nanny with the help of others, but they were already dead, having remained in the pool for a long time without being able to get out."

The source added that the police and relevant authorities were contacted, and an ambulance arrived. Paramedics attempted to perform resuscitation on the child and the nanny before taking them to the ambulance, but they had already passed away. He noted that the authorities had been informed of all the details of the incident.

A family from Abu Dhabi had traveled to Ras Al Khaimah for a leisure trip at a hotel, which turned into a tragedy due to the drowning of their young child and nanny in the hotel pool.
