Galatasaray Wins and Strengthens Its Lead in the Turkish Super League - Video

The match between Galatasaray and Alanyaspor took place at the "Bahçeşehir Okulları" stadium as part of the 26th round of the Turkish Super League for the current 2020-2021 season.

Galatasaray achieved a valuable victory over the host team Alanyaspor with a score of 1-0. Egyptian star Mostafa Mohamed played the entire match and contributed to scoring his team's only goal. He almost opened the scoring early, just 5 minutes into the match, but was denied by the left post of Alanyaspor's goalkeeper. After a brilliant pass from Mostafa Mohamed to his teammate Henry Onyekuru, the latter found himself alone in front of the goal but shot the ball wide of the left post.

Emre Kilinç scored Galatasaray's only goal in the 18th minute. Mostafa Mohamed initiated the attack with a chest pass to his teammate Yedlin, who sent a long ball that allowed Emre Kilinç to break through and place it in the net. The score remained unchanged in the second half amidst attempts from Galatasaray to extend their lead and Alanyaspor to equalize.

Thus, Galatasaray avenges its recent elimination from the Turkish Cup by Alanyaspor, losing 3-2 in the quarter-finals about two weeks prior, in addition to losing their first-round match against the same team 2-1 in the fifth round of the Turkish League for the current season.

Notably, with this result, Galatasaray bolsters its lead at the top of the Turkish league table with 54 points, ahead of its closest rivals, Fenerbahçe and Beşiktaş, who both have 51 points.
