Lewandowski Scores Twice for Barcelona, Extends Lead Over Ronaldo and Messi

Polish striker Robert Lewandowski scored two goals to lead his team Bayern Munich to a 3-0 victory over host Barcelona on Tuesday, in the first round of the group stage of the UEFA Champions League. The statistics network "Opta" reported that Lewandowski reached 112 goals in all competitions since the start of the 2019-2020 season. It added that the Polish striker has established himself as the top scorer among players belonging to clubs in major leagues since the beginning of the 2019-2020 season. Lewandowski is 36 goals ahead of his closest competitors among major league strikers. In second place behind the Polish striker are Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo and Frenchman Kylian Mbappé, each with 76 goals, followed by Norwegian Erling Haaland (73 goals) and Argentine Lionel Messi (69 goals).
