In a scene reminiscent of Adel Imam and Said Saleh when they impersonated a police force and a health doctor to raid the butcher shops owned by Salah Nazmi "Halawa Al-Antabeli" in the famous film "On the Door of the Minister," four unemployed individuals have enacted a similar scenario in a realistic manner in 6th of October City in Giza, south of the Egyptian capital, Cairo.
According to the investigations conducted by the October Prosecution, the four defendants imitated scenes they had seen in films, which led them to hatch the idea of robbing establishments operating without licenses, believing this would make their task easier and raise no suspicions.
However, according to the investigations and the defendants' confessions, an unexpected event occurred that revealed their plan: one of the employees at the site they raided managed to escape while they were dressed in police uniforms, but fell from a window and died. The details of the case were uncovered through a report to the police station in the first district of October, stating the discovery of the body of a person who worked at an unlicensed health center, found in a building within the district, with bruises and injuries.
Investigations revealed that on the same day the body was found, three individuals pretending to be police officers arrived at the aforementioned center and seized five mobile phones and an amount of money from the location. During this incident, some employees and the deceased attempted to flee by jumping from a window, which led to the fatality.
Through the establishment of a criminal investigation team led by the General Security Sector, with the participation of the General Administration of Investigations in Giza, the perpetrators of the incident were identified, revealing four individuals, two of whom had previous criminal records.
The police managed to apprehend three of the suspects and are currently intensifying efforts to capture the fourth, who remains at large. The arrested defendants confessed during the prosecution's investigations that they impersonated police officers knowing the center was unlicensed, asserting they did not know the deceased had jumped from the window. They also pointed authorities to the locations of the stolen mobile phones and admitted to spending the money on their personal needs.
Several employees from the mentioned center were summoned and identified the suspects, leading the prosecution to order their detention on charges of impersonating police officers, causing the death of an individual, as well as sealing the health center for operating without a license, while urging the police to expedite efforts to apprehend the fleeing suspect.
