Simple Beauty Tricks to Make You Look 10 Years Younger

A new trend on TikTok has shown that applying concealer in a diagonal line from the corner of the eye can make a woman look years younger. Makeup artist Siobhan O'Connor used model Kate Woodhouse, who is in her fifties, to try out her tricks that help fight and conceal signs of aging. Here are the main tricks, according to The Sun newspaper:

**Applying Concealer**

Typically, when applying concealer, inverted triangles are drawn under the eyes. However, the video posted by Siobhan on TikTok, which has been viewed over 13 million times, reveals that for a lifting effect and to hide wrinkles, concealer should be applied on nasal wrinkles, the corners of the eyes, and the corners of the mouth, plus a line along the cheekbone. These areas are where the skin begins to sag. It is said that placing concealer in these spots gives the illusion of a mini facelift. Blending upwards lifts the face and creates the illusion of taut skin, but avoid rubbing below your cheekbones as this will pull the face down. Look for concealer that is two shades lighter than your skin tone to enhance the sculpting effect.

**Lining the Eyelashes**

Like hair, eyelashes can turn gray as hair follicles produce less melanin as we age. Use waterproof eyeliner on the upper line to add definition and thicken the appearance of your lashes. The shape you create is equally important and should always follow an upward trajectory. Use an eyelash curler, focusing particularly on the outer corners, as lifting your eyes raises the rest of your face.

**Magical Lip Lining**

As we age, our lips can appear plump and dry regardless of how much balm we use. To remedy this, draw a line above the upper lip to make it look fuller, then use a darker lip liner and add three lines on each lip. This creates volume by adding shadow and depth before applying lipstick. Applying lines on the lips generates volume by adding shadow and depth.

**Filling Wrinkles**

When it comes to addressing smile lines and fine lines, there’s no need for Botox. Instead, fill in these lines. Start your makeup application with a primer before applying liquid foundation, and treat the lip lines, scars, and other signs of aging with a suitable cream.

**Applying Foundation**

Dewy skin is key to looking younger, so ditch the pressed powder, and use a highlighter on the cheekbones and on either side of the nose for a youthful glow. Use liquid foundation applied with a damp sponge to eliminate excess oil and large pores.

**Baking Soda on Teeth**

To make your teeth shinier and whiter, clean them deeply using baking soda. For a great feeling of cleanliness, sprinkle baking soda or activated charcoal powder on the brush and use it to clean your teeth for no more than a week.

**Shimmer Shadow in the Inner Corner of the Eye**

Television makeup artist Lisa Armstrong says that bright eyes and lipstick are your keys to a younger appearance. A quick trick to instantly breathe life into your eyelids is to apply a light, shimmery eyeshadow to the inner corners. Often, the focus is on concealing dark circles under the eyes, but applying highlighter in the corners will make you look brighter instantly.
