A consultant cooperating with the Swedish tax authorities cleverly manipulated the work system in a strange way, as he kept calling his own phone for 55 hours to appear busy speaking with clients. A disciplinary report from the Swedish Tax Agency stated: "Instead of answering customer calls, Andreas called his personal number to keep himself busy in the system, which redirected calls to others."
Between March 10 and May 5, the 28-year-old Swedish man, who may face dismissal, called his personal number 32 times for a total of 55 hours, equivalent to seven actual working days over two months, according to the authorities. Some of those calls sometimes lasted for hours, according to the report. The young man, who took this position in May 2020, had been working from home since January 2021 due to the pandemic, as reported by AFP.
In April, one of his supervisors noticed that the calls he was making were unusually long. The employee admitted to his actions and repeated the trick four more times afterward. When called in again in May, he justified his actions by saying that his enthusiasm for work was "very low."
