A Moroccan Young Man Engages Two Women at the Same Ceremony: Their Response to Critics

In a strange incident captured on video by a Moroccan channel, a young man proposed to two women during a single engagement ceremony, during which both women expressed their acceptance of his proposal, preparing for a marriage with both.

The video, widely circulated among social media users, features a young man named Nasir alongside his two fiancées, who state that this is their life and they desire stability, seeing no flaw in the concept of two women marrying one man.

In response to critics, social media users launched an attack on the audacity of the two women. The comments were filled with anger and sarcastic responses rejecting the phenomenon and its promotion in Arab societies. In the video, one of the women mentioned that their decision is a personal choice, expressing her dismay at the comments directed at them regarding their acceptance of the engagement.

She also criticized the nature of the disapproving and critical advice given to them. In answer to critics who asked why each one of them could not have a separate husband, one responded by addressing the critics: "We tell the people who criticize us, may God guide them, we haven't done anything shameful or forbidden, and we hope they stand by us and support us."

The Moroccan young man's experience drew a wave of comments urging the two women to reconsider their relationship. The engagement came after both women, who are friends—not sisters as rumored—decided to marry the same man. Nasir was not the first Moroccan young man to entertain this idea, which has been met with resistance from some Moroccans encouraging the women to withdraw from the situation. Meanwhile, some women mocked the choice of the two to share one man, while others considered the young man who proposes to both at the same ceremony, with their consent and happiness, to be very lucky indeed.
