Lebanese artist Ramy Ayach expressed his deep dissatisfaction with the current state of Lebanon across all levels, criticizing politicians and describing them as inhumane.
In a tweet on Twitter, Ramy Ayach wrote: "In Lebanon, they exploited the explosion to unleash their hatred towards each other, they exploited Corona to revel in each other’s misfortunes, they exploited the revolution to question the patriotism of some, they exploited religion and parties to unleash their resentment towards each other, they exploited the impoverishment of the people to accuse each other of cowardice. The lack of humanity in Lebanon has reached unprecedented levels." He added that his lack of patience was what compelled him to speak in this manner, saying, "We are Lebanon's image to the world that should always be beautiful, but for the first time, I will allow myself to talk about the reality that has destroyed us over decades."
Comments poured in on the Lebanese artist, thanking him for his sensitive national feeling. Among the comments were: "Your words always touch our wounds, may God protect Lebanon and protect us," "We felt your burning concern; it's hard to see your country slipping away into untrustworthy hands," and "All this was produced by the ruling and inherited political class, which made the people hate each other, playing on sectarianism and existence. What you said is the voice of reason; humanity has vanished in our country."
On the artistic front, Ramy Ayach's latest work was the song "Dqi Ya Mzika," released on YouTube featuring a selection of stars, and it achieved wide popularity. The song's lyrics are by Mana Al-Qaii, composed by Abdul Rahman Rushdi, with musical distribution by Nabulsian, and directed by Mariam Al-Bajouri.
