**Al-Binaa**

- Close sources to the Vatican say that Pope Francis is carrying in his pocket during his visit to Lebanon a list of three bishops with close ties to both Christian and Lebanese leaders, whom he may suggest to assign to the political file to guarantee the church's "neutrality."

- Russian sources indicate that the essence of what will emerge on the battlefield after the Mariupol battle is the impact of fuel shortages on Ukrainian forces and their inability to operate any heavy weapons or supply convoys, in contrast to the West's failure to provide them with continuous alternative resources amid the naval blockade and fire control at the land borders.

**Al-Jomhouria**

- A number of deputies are preparing to question the government about the continued violation by some banks of the Banque du Liban's directive regarding the full payment of dues for civil servants and retirees transferred to their accounts in banks from the Ministry of Finance.

**Addiyar**

- Sources following the electoral surveys expect the Lebanese Forces to secure 14 seats for sure, in addition to six potential seats, while the Free Patriotic Movement is expected to receive seven seats with five potential ones.

- Efforts are underway to convince a number of politically and factionally dispersed deputies to join the Free Patriotic Movement bloc to increase its size and maintain it as the largest Christian bloc, but with no confirmed results yet.

- It has been noted that the movement of voices opposing President Fouad Siniora and other initiators to break the Sunni boycott has diminished after the return of the Saudi ambassador to Lebanon. Sources anticipate that this movement may diminish further and the Sunni community may head towards wider participation in the elections.

- Several officials are discussing options that the resisting team might resort to in order to undermine a pressing entitlement.
