Smoke in the House of El-Ebrashi: Widow of the Late Broadcaster Reveals Important Information

The widow of the late prominent broadcaster Wael El-Ebrashi revealed details about his illness and its developments leading to his death during a call with the renowned journalist Amr Adib on the program "Al-Hiya" broadcasted on MBC Egypt. She stated that she was in Greece with her daughter waiting for him to join them before he fell seriously ill with a severe cold. She mentioned that his cough was alarming, prompting her to urge him to seek medical attention, which he did. He confirmed to her that he had contracted COVID-19.

The widow expressed that she asked him to allow her to return to Egypt, but he refused, insisting that she not come back for her and their daughter's safety. She added that El-Ebrashi informed her he was taking medication from a gastroenterologist recommended by a fellow journalist.

She noted that his health deteriorated further after several days, yet he remained wholly convinced about the doctor to an extreme degree and insisted on having the doctor stay in their home. She communicated with him by phone from Greece and felt that the doctor was not professionally handling his case.

El-Ebrashi's widow mentioned she returned to Egypt out of concern for him due to his declining health. Upon her return home, she discovered the house filled with smoke, as the doctor was smoking excessively next to Wael El-Ebrashi. He was then transferred to the hospital in a critical condition, seemingly having taken medication that was not well understood.

The widow also discovered that this doctor had treated other patients who had also passed away. She submitted a statement to the public prosecutor and a complaint to the Medical Syndicate, urging the Syndicate to respond.
