Mohamed Ramadan in a New Predicament: An Egyptian Citizen Claims "He Ruined My Life"

Mohamed Ramadan in a New Predicament: An Egyptian Citizen Claims

It seems that controversies and problems have become a constant companion for Egyptian pop star Mohamed Ramadan. The controversial young man can barely finish one crisis before getting into another. The latest news today is that a citizen named Ahmed Mohamed El-Sayed Amer, from Port Said, filed a report at the Al-Haram Police Department accusing the "number one" artist of defaming him and ruining his life and his children's future.

Amer confirmed in a petition he submitted to the Public Prosecutor that he was shocked to see actor Mohamed Ramadan publishing his picture in the promotional material for the play "Ahlan Ramadan," and included it in the play's decor. He emphasized that Ramadan exploited his image as a registered criminal and published videos of the play on social media in a way that harms and insults his reputation, leading the public and public opinion to damage and insult his honor, according to the complaint.

In a live broadcast with a well-known local program, he revealed that he has three children and works as a driver in one of the customs clearance offices. In 2015, he offered a group of goods to a merchant for sale, only to find out they were stolen, for which he served the legal penalty. While browsing social media, his son was shocked to see his father's image in the advertisement for "Ahlan Ramadan," which left him and his siblings in a state of shock, leading them to immediately inform their father.

The citizen pointed out that the Egyptian star obtained the image through photographs taken in the case without any right, using it without the owner's permission, which caused him distress, especially after the play aired and was viewed by millions worldwide.

He further explained that after the show, people's perceptions of him changed, and his children faced significant issues with their friends, who bullied them because their father was labeled a "registered criminal." He said, "I swear I'm not registered; ask in all the stations, this is just the case and I served the punishment." He disclosed that there are Egyptians living abroad who have seen the video and recognized him, asserting that his life has been destroyed after becoming the registered criminal known by millions due to Ramadan's actions.

Moreover, Amer urged the Public Prosecutor to quickly resolve the case, save his life, and restore his rights and his family's from the problems they faced due to Ramadan's defamation. He stated, "Although I don’t even have money to travel to pursue the case, I swear I will not give up my rights, and I have faith in the leadership of the Egyptian state."

It is worth noting that the name of the Egyptian star has often become associated with crises, starting with the case of pilot Ashraf Abu El-Yusr and the subsequent issues, which included dancing on stage in an outfit that displeased the singers' union, leading to his ban from singing, to his videos with flight attendants during his travels, and the widespread controversy that arose months ago due to his receiving an honorary doctorate in "acting and singing performance" and the title of "Arab Youth Ambassador" from a cultural center in Lebanon, which required back-and-forth explanations, among many others.
