The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division, issued the following statement: As part of the continuous monitoring carried out by the Information Branch of the Internal Security Forces to combat theft operations, and after an increase in motorcycle thefts in various Lebanese areas, the branch intensified its investigative and field efforts to identify and apprehend those involved.

As a result of the investigations and inquiries, the branch was able to identify two suspects involved in theft operations within Beirut, particularly in the "Zaitunay Bay" area: M.H. (born in 1992, Lebanese) and H.M. (born in 1985, Lebanese), both of whom have prior records for theft, drug offenses, and weapons.

On 28-5-2022, after surveillance and monitoring, and through a well-planned ambush, the branch's patrols were able to apprehend them in the act of committing a theft in the aforementioned area. They were found in possession of tools and special keys used for theft operations.

During the investigation, they confessed to carrying out more than 15 motorcycle thefts from the "Zaitunay Bay" area, selling them at the Burj al-Barajneh camp for amounts ranging from two to three million Lebanese Lira, depending on the type of motorcycle.

Legal action was taken against them, and they were detained along with the confiscated items, based on the instructions of the relevant judiciary authority.
