3 Tricks to Enhance Photos on iPhone Camera

TikTok is a great place to get unique tips on using the iPhone camera, offering many new and innovative ways to capture photos with your phone. Recently, three tricks have gone viral on the platform, partially due to how easy they are to try. Here are these tricks, according to The Sun newspaper:

**Vertical Effect**

You can achieve an amazing vertical photo effect using the panorama mode on the iPhone camera, which captures more of the scene by combining multiple images. The result is an expanded space that can showcase everything in the sky, such as a starry night sky or stormy clouds. To try this effect yourself, open the camera app and switch to Pano mode by swiping left on your screen. If you have an iPhone 11 or newer, switch to the wide-angle lens by tapping the 0.5x button below the shutter. Next, rotate the camera 90 degrees to the side until the horizon forms a vertical line at the bottom of your screen. Press the shutter button and move your phone upwards towards the sky, ensuring to keep your phone in motion while capturing the image. Hold the arrow on the line while moving upwards to ensure the panorama aligns accurately; otherwise, it will look rough. While capturing your shot, extend the panorama into the sky as much as you want to see in your photo, then press the shutter again to stop, and you'll end up with a fisheye effect image stretching into the sky for great impact.

**Black and White Selfie**

Everyone knows how to take a selfie, but few can do it using this unconventional effect. Open the iOS camera app and switch to the front camera by tapping the circular arrow icon at the bottom right. Then, switch to portrait mode by swiping left on your screen. Portrait mode creates a depth-of-field effect by blurring the background of your photos. Next, tap and swipe through the effect options at the bottom of the viewfinder until you select "Stage Mono Light," which creates a striking black and white image with a black background. Now, swipe on the image and lower the brightness of your photo by dragging down on the yellow sun icon that appears. Selfies taken in this mode will achieve the desired effect, and your photos will look better if you wear darker clothing.

**Sunrise Video Effect**

Another popular trick on TikTok that emerged last year also uses the brightness slider in the iPhone camera app. The tool, which allows you to expand highlights or shadows in the image, becomes visible when you tap to focus before capturing a photo or video. When used correctly, videos start in dense shadow and then brightly shine as if an invisible sunrise occurs on the horizon. To try it yourself, open the iPhone camera app and swipe right on your screen to switch to video mode. Before recording a video, tap to focus on your subject, then tap on the yellow sun icon that appears and drag the brightness slider down. Once you start recording, gradually slide the slider back up. Stop recording when you reach any brightness level that satisfies you.
