The Syrian star Slaaf Fawazerkhi shared a photo with her followers on her personal account on social media, featuring the Lebanese artist Ma'in Sherif.
The artist pointed out that the photo was taken in Damascus, specifically from the filming location of the series "Al-Kandosh," for which Ma'in Sherif sings the theme song. Slaaf praised the star Ma'in, expressing her great love for him and admiration for his songs. She commented on the photo saying: "You are still just as you are... This song was always sent to me and gifted to me by my mother, and it became our song, and she always reminded me of it to assure me that I must remain as I am... and you, Ma'in, are just as you are: kind, genuine, and loving... You honored us with your singing in the series' theme song in the best way possible... and you brightened our days, and Damascus always brings us together."
Ma'in Sherif responded to Slaaf's comment saying: "You are genuine and always speak from your heart, but it is I who is honored by you and the entire 'Al-Kandosh' family, you symbol of loyalty. Wishing you all success and good fortune."
It's worth mentioning that "Al-Kandosh" is a traditional environmental Syrian work, referring to a container where grains were stored, as well as food preservation. The events unfold over 60 episodes and carry a social comedic tone, featuring songs that people listened to in 1940 during the period the work discusses, between 1938 and 1940. It tells the story of a Damascus neighborhood in a way lived by the character Tahseen Bek, which is why it is considered one of the most authentic Syrian works. It aims to portray this environment realistically, including both its negatives and positives, away from beautification, addressing anyone who has attempted to tamper with the Syrian environment, as he stated in several media interviews.
