Soudair Masoud: My Partnership with Basil Khayat Leads to a Safe Place

Syrian director Soudair Masoud stated that the efforts made by the cast and crew of the series "Qeid Majhool," from actors to technical staff, and their commitment to the work as a whole, motivated him to undertake this experience. He highlighted their ability to interpret his personal ideas and their vision in filming scenes, including camera movements and the positioning of actors within the frame, describing them as "supportive and unconcerned with money."

During his media appearance on Syrian radio "Sham FM," Masoud mentioned that each episode lasts 38 minutes. He refrained from discussing details of the work to avoid revealing its ideas and events. Masoud emphasized that he aimed to maintain elements of suspense and excitement in every episode, as viewers have a curiosity about what will happen in the next episode, which he believes will give the series a distinctive character, saying: "This situation can stir debate among people."

Masoud confirmed that his partnership with actor Basil Khayat is one that leads to a safe place, especially since "Qeid Majhool" is his first directorial experience in television drama. When asked about Basil Khayat's strengths during filming, he noted Khayat's attention to detail. He also remarked that artist Abdel Moneim Amayri is a "block of talent" who moves before the director, and insisted that every director should be keen to utilize any moment he may present on screen. Masoud declined to describe himself as the "leader of the work," expressing his belief in the concept of teamwork and collaborative effort, indicating that a smart actor is one who invokes a sense of partnership.

"Qeid Majhool" falls within the genres of drama and suspense, and it is a Lebanese-Syrian collaborative work, shot in Lebanon for production reasons, according to director Soudair. The series consists of eight TV episodes, written by Mohammed Abu Luban and Lwa Yazzji, featuring several stars including Basil Khayat, Abdel Moneim Amayri, Nazli Al-Rawas, among many others.

It is worth mentioning that Syrian director Soudair Masoud is also continuing to film his scenes as an actor in the series "Muqabala Ma'a Al-Sayed Adam 2," directed by Fadi Saleem, playing the character "Mo'tassem." The first season gained high viewership and notable success, being described as one of the most beautiful Syrian series in the last Ramadan season.
