Egyptian actress Yasmin Abdel Aziz revealed new surprises about her illness, confirming that she underwent three operations after experiencing a perforation in her colon. She explained that if the surgery had been delayed by just a few hours, she could have lost her life, crediting her treating physician for saving her. During her appearance on the show "Ma'akum," with host Mona El Shazly on CBC, Yasmin broke down in tears while sharing the details of her recent health crisis, stating: "As I was going in, I told my elder brother to take care of Yasmin and Seif, because I was going in and not coming out. I really felt that way." She continued, "When I entered, my condition was very critical. They brought me out of surgery to the ICU."
Yasmin added, "In the ICU, there were tubes in my nose, in my mouth, and four from my sides. Because of how much my arms were infected, they had to insert seven or eight tubes with antibiotics. I felt like I was fading away in the ICU, and the doctors were saying, 'Pray for her, we will take it day by day.' The machine I was on in the ICU, if 100 people enter it, only 10 survive; if 10 enter, only 2 or 3 come out."
She recounted, "Someone told my brother in the hospital that I was on this machine, which people usually don’t come out of, and my heart and pulse were still weak, and the infection in my blood was high." Yasmin shared her ordeal regarding her recent illness that required her to travel abroad for an extended treatment. She said, "I was set to undergo surgery, which I had done five times before, and I went in for the procedure without anyone knowing. Then, after the surgery, I came out experiencing terrible pain, and I kept shouting that I was dying."
She continued, "A few days later, the doctor told me that if I didn't go in for another surgery within an hour, I would die. It turned out the colon was perforated, and I developed blood poisoning." Yasmin commented, "Since the series 'The One Who Has No Senior', I haven't seen a good day. I had COVID-19 twice, and then the crises I went through."
She added, "I was preparing to undergo surgery for ovarian cysts, something I had already done five times. I would go in for it without anyone knowing and come out days later to resume my normal activities." Yasmin mentioned, "After the series 'The One Who Has No Senior', I faced a lot of difficulties. I caught COVID-19 twice and then endured serious health crises."
Yasmin concluded, "Cysts are something that God brings upon many women. I adapted to them, lived with their pain, and I don't complain at all. When I went in for the surgery, the doctor said it would take three hours, after which I would need to stay in the hospital for two to three days at most, and I was accompanied by my friend Nivin, my husband Ahmed, and my daughter Yasmin."
