The Nation Movement warned against the systematic and growing accusations that emerged immediately following the death of the Director of the "UMM Center for Research and Documentation," Luqman Salim, accusing the resistance of being behind the crime, as if it were premeditated, without waiting for any investigations from judicial or security authorities. This raises numerous questions about the crime and the party behind it, as if they knew in advance where the accusations would be directed.
In a statement today, the movement cautioned against "stirring up sedition and inciting against the resistance, aligning with the American-Zionist-regressive project, and the blatant attempt to exploit bloodshed and amplify the movements of the US-funded NGO group, in addition to attempts to penetrate the supportive environment of the resistance and its people."
On another note, the Nation Movement called for "urgent action to form a new government responsible for containing the severe economic and living crisis that Lebanon is facing and addressing the financial collapse, as the vast majority of Lebanese are now threatened in their daily lives, especially in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, which is imposing increasing burdens on the state and citizens."
The movement stated that "the serious situation we are experiencing does not allow for luxury or for any of the active parties to divert their priorities at the expense of national understandings and realities, emphasizing that rebuilding the state and restructuring the national economy requires a collective national will in our country, which is rife with sectarian, religious, and political sensitivities."
