The well-known goalkeeper of the Egyptian national football team and Zamalek club, Mohamed Abou Gabal, has been fined a significant amount by his club, headed by Mortada Mansour, according to Egyptian media reports. This is related to Abou Gabal violating instructions set by Mansour regarding players not appearing in the media without the club's permission. Abou Gabal appeared on a television program (Box to Box) on ETC channel with journalist Mohamed Shobana, which Shobana himself confirmed, as reported by "Al-Masry Al-Youm."
Shobana pointed out that Mortada Mansour's anger and his decision to fine Abou Gabal stemmed not only from this appearance but also from the fact that the program presenter had a significant conflict with Mansour in the past. This angered the Zamalek president further, especially since the goalkeeper also appeared with other journalists. The issues between Shobana and Mansour date back to a previous period when they exchanged insults and had a serious conflict, which recurred during Mansour's time away from the presidency of Zamalek; their disagreements remain ongoing, particularly as Shobana often brings up matters involving Mortada Mansour and his son, Amir. This journalist is considered one of the prominent figures banned from entering Zamalek Club at the command of the club president.
Abou Gabal, who is popularly known in Egypt as "Gabaski," has become one of the most prominent names currently and a regular guest on television screens and various media outlets. He recently appeared with journalist Amr Adib on the program "Al-Hekaya" on MBC Masr. Abou Gabal's private life has become a focal point for many Egyptian media outlets due to the fame he has gained lately, both in Egypt and abroad.
Abou Gabal made headlines during the recent Africa Cup of Nations, where he was a key player in the Egyptian team's victories, especially in penalty shootouts against Ivory Coast and Cameroon, alongside his remarkable performance in the match against Morocco. However, he narrowly missed crowning his brilliance with the coveted title, as he failed to save the most crucial penalty in the tournament against Senegal's star Sadio Mane, who scored it, leading his country to their first title in history.
