Dubai Hotels Restore Capacity

Dubai's hotel establishments have nearly fully restored their capacity starting today, following an announcement from Dubai Tourism, which provided a circular obtained by "Al-Bayan" regarding the facilitation of procedures while adhering to precautionary measures. According to the circular, the capacity for all hotel facilities has been increased to 100%, while capacity for recreational facilities, museums, cinemas, and tourist activities has reached 80%.

For business events, the capacity has also been raised to 100%, maintaining compliance with all business event protocols issued by the department. Regarding restaurants and cafes, the department indicated that capacity will be increased to 80%, allowing for a reduction in social distancing between tables from two meters to 1.5 meters. They can also return to regular operating hours prior to the pandemic while adhering to permits and guidelines. Additionally, restaurants and cafes can extend entertainment activities until 3 AM while following general rules.

The department added that the capacity for all venues hosting events (including crowds) will be increased to 60% without a maximum participant limit. Under the circular, recreational events (with free movement) will be limited to vaccinated individuals, with attendance not exceeding 5,000 people, in compliance with general regulations. Vaccination is mandatory for performers residing in the country, or a PCR test must be conducted for unvaccinated performers 24 hours before the event.

Regarding corporate events and award ceremonies, the number of participants will be increased to a maximum of 1,000. For social activities, the capacity will also rise to 60%, not exceeding 300 people. The host of the event is fully responsible for adhering to all precautionary measures, with strict entry prohibitions for anyone exhibiting health symptoms. The attendance of children, the elderly, and individuals with chronic conditions is discouraged in the interest of public health.

The department noted that the updates to the precautionary measures for the tourism sector were made in accordance with the approval of the Control and Command Centre, and all relevant parties are directed to comply. They emphasized the necessity of fully adhering to all previously issued precautionary measures. The department further stated in the circular that it will continually assess the evolving situation with health authorities, emphasizing cooperation and effort from key partners to serve the public good and protect community safety and health.
