The murder of Luqman Salim has sparked widespread reactions and condemnations at political and social levels, both locally and internationally. The French Foreign Ministry condemned the killing of Lebanese activist Luqman Salim, describing it as a "heinous crime," and called for a transparent investigation. U.S. Ambassador to Lebanon Dorothy Shea also condemned the assassination of Luqman Salim, denouncing it as not just a brutal attack on an individual, but as a cowardly assault on the principles of democracy, freedom of expression, and civil participation. Shea stressed that the use of threats and intimidation to undermine the rule of law and silence political discourse is unacceptable. She stated, "We join other friends of Lebanon and the leaders of the country who have condemned this heinous crime, and we urge all leaders from various political affiliations to do the same." Shea highlighted the need for a prompt investigation into this crime and other unresolved killings to bring the perpetrators to justice.
The Syrian Social Nationalist Party condemned the "murder of journalist Luqman Salim" in a statement, urging Lebanese authorities to quickly reveal the perpetrators and the reasons behind this heinous crime. The party warned "opportunists and schemers against preemptively directing accusations without evidence or clues towards a specific political entity."
The National Initiative Movement held an extraordinary meeting to discuss the assassination of Luqman Salim, stating that the assassination of their friend and activist Luqman Salim marked the culmination of his national and humanitarian efforts to liberate Lebanon and its people from the forces of the status quo. The initiative's statement noted that when the movement was founded in 2017, Luqman was one of the founding members. He contributed to its statements, announcements, and activities, and he consistently believed that restoring freedom, justice, and the rule of law required courage and risk—a stance that led the resistance leaders to threaten him repeatedly due to the widening of his influence and his ability to persuade and initiate hope for national salvation from the grip of proxy terrorism.
