Egyptian artist Hadi Al-Giayar passed away today, Sunday, at the age of 71, affected by a coronavirus infection.
Regarding the burial, the Actors' Syndicate in Egypt revealed that the body is scheduled to be buried after the noon prayer today in the family cemetery. Al-Giayar had recently disclosed on his personal Facebook account that he had contracted the virus, but his health deteriorated, leading to his hospitalization and placement on a ventilator in the intensive care unit. It is noteworthy that Hadi Al-Giayar had undergone open-heart surgery some time ago, which caused complications after he contracted the virus, as revealed by artist Fathouh Ahmed. This marks the third death in the Egyptian artistic community due to coronavirus, following the passes of actress Ragaa Al-Giddawy and actor Faiq Azab.
The late artist participated in more than 200 artistic works, the most prominent being the play "School of Trouble," which made his name prominent in the artistic community. He also had roles in several series including "Money and Sons," "Rebellion," "The Other Face," "The Light of Dawn," "The Legend," "Born of Poverty," and many others. In cinema, he presented many films including "To Whom the Sun Rises," "When Sorrows Rise," "The Investigation is Over," "Nights of Patience," and "The Path of the Brave."
