# Military Operations Continue in Marib with Heavy Losses for Houthi Forces

The Yemeni army confirmed on Saturday that military operations continue, supported by the coalition's fighter jets, across various fronts in the southern province of Marib, amid defeats and losses suffered by Houthi militias. Brigade Commander Ali Al-Humaidi stated that the southern Marib fronts witnessed heroic battles over the past hours, in which the Yemeni army inflicted dozens of casualties on the militias and destroyed various military vehicles.

He further added that coalition aircraft carried out precise strikes, which resulted in the destruction of Houthi vehicles and crews, as reported by the official website of the Yemeni army. He pointed out that the militias are experiencing their worst days in the Al-Jubah and Harib fronts, which they thought they would conquer, aiming for victory in Marib after failing in the Al-Kasara, Al-Mashajah, and Sirwah fronts in the west of the province. He noted that the southern fronts have become akin to a slaughterhouse for those criminal gangs.

Al-Humaidi remarked that the balance of power on the ground has changed following the advances made by the Giants Brigades in the Bayhan districts, stating that the Iranian militia is encircled and is currently being dealt with by the army forces. He also thanked the coalition for the airstrikes it carries out continuously across various combat fronts.

Additionally, the army's artillery targeted Houthi positions and gatherings in the Mal'a and Umm Rish fronts south of Marib, inflicting heavy losses in personnel and equipment, including the destruction of three vehicles and the casualties of those on board.

The Yemeni army's media center published a video featuring some of the battles being fought by the army and popular resistance with the support of the coalition on the southern fronts of Marib province. A video was also released showing army forces from the front lines of the combat areas south of Marib.

It is noteworthy that since February 2021, the militias have intensified their attacks on Marib, which is rich in oil and gas, despite numerous international and UN warnings about the risks threatening the lives of thousands of displaced people. Currently, close to 3 million people reside in the city of Marib, including about one million who have fled from other areas in Yemen.
