Syrian star Assala Nasri revealed new details about her relationship with her husband, Iraqi poet Faik Hassan, and the psychological crises she has faced. In a television interview on CBC, she mentioned that she and her husband were friends for about 15 years, noting that their feelings changed in one day, and they both began to think of each other differently. She explained that the first person to know about the idea of marriage was her daughter, Sham.
The singer of "Ma Bqash Ana" emphasized that she made significant changes alongside her commitment to Faik Hassan, stating that she married the day after he proposed to her. She noted that her life partner was the one who requested she cut her hair, adding, "He asked me to cut my hair, and his requests are orders."
Assala also explained that she had gone through many difficult experiences in the recent past that were beyond her capacity, confirming that she sought help from several psychologists and underwent medication treatment for several months, which negatively affected her, particularly as she decided to increase her medication dosage without consulting a doctor, leading to illness and an inability to walk.
She stated that coinciding with her birthday, she decided not to take those medications again to become a different person after getting rid of their harmful effects on her health.
It is noteworthy that the Syrian artist officially announced her marriage to Iraqi lyricist Faik Hassan in September by posting a photo of them together on her official Instagram account. Assala was initially married to businessman Ayman al-Zahabi, with whom she had a son and a daughter, Khaled and Sham, before separating in 2005. She then married director Tarek Al-Arian, with whom she had twins Adam and Ali, separating in January 2020 after 14 years of marriage.
