Hala Shiha Retracts Statements About Her Father Following Heated Comments

After the fiery statements directed by the Egyptian retired actress Hala Shiha towards her father, artist Ahmad Shiha, in response to his claim that she had been "intellectually kidnapped" by her husband, preacher Moaz Masoud, she issued new statements that seemed to apologize to her father. Hala Shiha posted a photo with her father on her Instagram account, accompanied by a caption saying: "My dear father, the most cherished person. I love you, and no one can ever divide us. I understand your love and concern for me, and you are the dearest to all of us."

This came after the retired actress previously attacked her father in response to his comments criticizing her actions towards her colleague Tamer Hosny, who co-starred with her in the film "Mesh Ana." The controversy began when Shiha expressed her displeasure over her recent appearance in clips from Hosny's song, which was filmed as part of the movie they starred in together, before she announced her retirement from acting. She then criticized her colleague in a social media post.

Following these events, Ahmad Shiha made press statements criticizing his daughter's actions, which many considered disrespectful to art and artists. He stated: "This talk is not appropriate. She filmed the movie and was very fond of it; I don’t know the basis for this talk, you just filmed and that's it... This is not the Hala I know." He continued: "Hala has never said that art is forbidden, and we are now facing a case of Hala Shiha being kidnapped, and I am sad for her."

On her part, the actress did not remain silent and replied to her father with statements in a post on her Instagram account on Sunday, saying: "Honestly, I am shocked by the words my father said about my husband (preacher Moaz Masoud), whom I married of my own free will. Thank God, I found in him all the beautiful meanings of respect, masculinity, and rarity these days."

She added: "No one has kidnapped me as my father said; the words are completely inappropriate. I love my husband and am happy with his love for me, and we respect each other. Moaz respects my opinion and appreciates my feelings, and he is always calming me down... and of course, he supports and encourages me because I am his wife and beloved... He is far better than all the words being said about him and the false accusations."

She continued: "I am very upset with my father because he knows Moaz very well, and they have spent a lot of time together, and my father really likes him and has seen all good things from him... Moaz has been married for 14 years and was stable in his life with three children... and in the end, like me, his marriage did not last, and divorce happened, and we are all susceptible to this."

She concluded her post with a message to her beloved father, saying: "In the end, your words are not appropriate at all, with all my respect for you and everyone... I am, thank God, happy in my life." It is worth noting that the Actors Syndicate in Egypt criticized what it considered "attempts to turn back by spreading dark thoughts," and the head of the actors, Ashraf Zaki, announced Shiha's expulsion from the syndicate.
