Media sources revealed that Lebanese artist Najy Al-Asta has been moved out of intensive care after recently being hospitalized due to a deterioration in his health condition caused by a COVID-19 infection.
The sources indicated that Najy Al-Asta had been suffering from shortness of breath and coughing for the past two days, which forced him to use a ventilator due to the decline in his health status. The sources confirmed that the Lebanese artist does not have any prior health issues, is not a smoker, and has followed a healthy diet, all of which helped him improve.
Najy Al-Asta had previously announced his infection with the coronavirus, urging everyone to take care of themselves and follow all precautionary measures. He confirmed that he informed everyone he had been in contact with, stating on his official Twitter account: "My PCR test results came back positive a few days ago, and I've informed all close contacts. It's a difficult time, but hopefully, it will pass. Take great care of yourselves."
In an effort to support him, his fans, including his fellow artist Zain El-Omar, offered words of encouragement, with Zain saying, "Get well soon, Najy. You shall overcome this, stay strong." Actress Rola Chamia commented, "Wishing you a speedy recovery," while artist Eli Abu Najm wrote, "Get well soon; this will pass."
In this context, Al-Asta faced some criticism for hosting a New Year's Eve party at the "Le Royal" hotel alongside artist Adam, as he did not adhere to the preventive measures enacted by most countries that stressed the need to ban gatherings to reduce the spread of the virus.
It is worth noting that Najy Al-Asta recently released a new Christmas patriotic song titled "Tree Without a Holiday," with lyrics by Emil Fahd, music by Jihad Hadchiti, and arrangement by Rober Al-Asaad, through which he aimed to highlight the pain experienced by Lebanon and its people during the time of the birth of Jesus Christ.
