Majid Al-Benhawi, the lawyer for Youssef Khairy, known in the media as "The Human Mechanic," stated that the accused has been released on bail of 50,000 Egyptian pounds. He expressed gratitude to the Egyptian judiciary, noting that in the coming period he will work to prove his client's innocence of the charges against him.
The lawyer confirmed to the newspaper "Al-Watan" that as the defense for the accused, he will pursue legal action against anyone who has defamed his client. He pointed out that his client has completed a course in the United States in bone strengthening and spinal manipulation, stating, “We did not say he is a doctor, and the nature of his work is completely different from that of physical therapists.”
Security forces in Cairo had arrested Youssef Khairy on charges of practicing without a license, impersonating a physician, and forging his graduation certificate. The General Department for Financial Investigations and the Free Treatment Administration of the Ministry of Health ordered the closure of a physical therapy center owned by the accused in Nasr City, Cairo, which he referred to as "The Human Mechanic." The public prosecution has demanded an investigation into the accused's identity and verification of the legitimacy of the establishment and its medical practice license.
