Raids by Security Forces on Hoarders' Warehouses Sealed with Red Wax

The Internal Security Forces conducted several raids in various areas, seizing hoarded quantities of subsidized food items that had been repackaged in clear plastic bags for sale at prices higher than the subsidized rates. The warehouses were sealed with red wax.

The National News Agency reported a statement from the Information Division of the Internal Security Forces, indicating that the Southern Governorate Unit had received information about four warehouses in the areas of Haret Hreik, Shweifat/Dier Qoubel intersection, and Aaramoun, containing large hoarded amounts of various subsidized items such as baby formula, medicines, and food products.

The statement added that forces from the mentioned unit, supported by members of the Financial Crimes and Money Laundering Bureau and relevant factions, conducted the raids on February 8, 2021, based on judicial orders. In the locations:

- Haret Hreik: a quantity of expired goods was seized.

- Shweifat/Dier Qoubel intersection: large quantities of hoarded items were seized.

- Aaramoun: a significant amount of spoiled rice was found in the first warehouse, while the second warehouse contained hoarded food items.

Additionally, in previous dates, the operational units of the Internal Security Forces had raided several warehouses in the areas of the Kuwaiti embassy, Al-Rihab, Al-Awzaei, and Bir Hassan, where hoarded quantities of subsidized food items were also seized, which had been repackaged in clear plastic bags for sale at higher prices than the subsidized rates. These warehouses were sealed with red wax based on the orders of the appropriate judiciary overseeing the investigations.
